Dear Students,
Welcome to your studies in OBM4405 Ethics and Business Law. I hope that you will enjoy the course and am confident you will build on the firm foundation of management knowledge you already have gained from the MBA program. My hope is that you will grow in the participatory approach in class and successfully meet the various challenges you will experience along the way. Over time – I anticipate and indeed encourage your mature contribution as you prepare for graduation and graduate entry into the workforce. We are together embarking on a great learning journey! This module evaluate the framework of professional values, ethics and attitudes for exercising professional judgement and acting in an ethical manner, that is in the best interests of society and the profession. This module provides the student with the knowledge of specific areas of law essential to people who are engaging in business activities.
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
1. Apply the values and attitudes that provide individuals with a commitment to act in the public interest and with social responsibilities;
2. Analyze the need for a framework of laws, regulations and standard in business and their applications.; and
3. Evaluate the difference between details rules-based and framework approaches to ethics..
