Some employers today are using a variety of soft benefits (such as free or low-cost on-site child- care, gyms, massages, and restaurants) to recruit and keep talented employees. For instance, Google employees get free lunch and dinner, among other benefits. What are the advantages and disadvantages to both employers and employees of these types of employee benefits? Would these soft benefits make you more inclined to work at that company? Why or why not? What about gamification—the use of awarded points, rewards, and other game-type incentives?
